Washington City Landmark Drops
CANYON MEDIA contacted HiCaliber regarding a HUGE radio tower on Washington City land that needed to be dropped. We were thrilled to be apart of this historical event! The tower wasn’t just your standard standing heap of metal though. This 1210 AM radio tower has been a landmark for 34 years.
There were quite a few bystanders from the community and media personal there to witness the tower fall. The area was secured to prevent any damage to property or injuries.
The Washington City Fire department was at the scene as a precaution and made sure the traffic was limited on the west bound street next to the tower. Luckily, the weather was perfect and wind was not a factor. We would like to thank their team for making sure local residents were safe.
HiCaliber arrived at the location to set up equipment around 10:30. At approximately 11:30 the supporting cables were cut with a torch. It did not take long for the tower to fall in the direction according to the plan. There was a dust cloud that lifted as it hit the ground. The traffic on Buena Vista Drive was not affected. The field was cleared of debris in a timely matter.
We appreciate the community for trusting HiCaliber to complete the job effectively and safely. We were honored for the opportunity to be involved. THANK YOU!
