Southern Utah Home Fire
A family in Cane Beds, AZ was devastated to return home from the fair in southern Utah to find that a fire had completely destroyed their home. Not only was their home destroyed, but also lost to the flames were a few family pets. While the cause of the fire is still under investigation, witnesses reported hearing explosions. There are many things in a home that that quickly combust and explode leading to a home fire. One of the main causes for an explosion in a home is a natural gas leak. This can come from older models of appliances such as stoves and dryers that don’t have proper seals. Oftentimes, a pilot light can go out on a furnace or water heater, and if not fixed in time can lead to natural gas buildup that will explode with the slightest spark. Gas leaks aren’t the only cause of home fires from explosions. Paint cans and other combustible material near heat sources such as furnaces can be a ticking time bomb. As the paint heats in its sealed can, the fumes buildup until there’s nowhere else for them to go, but to blow.
